PHILLIP KOHL IS DEAD
Well-Known Oregon City Resident Passes Away Suddenly
OREGON CITY, Or., May 2.--(Special.)--Phillip Kohl died suddenly at the Oregon City hospital from pneumonia and heart disease Sunday morning at 1:30 o'clock.
Mr. Kohl was born in New York city November 16, 1851, and came west in July 1870, first settling in Portland. There he married Margaret Hoesly in 1882. In 1892 he and his family moved to Clackamas county, taking up their residence at Logan, and six years ago came to Oregon City, where he has since resided.
He is survived by three sons--Louis, Henry and George--all of whom reside at Logan, Clackamas county. His youngest son, Frank, a member of company E, 117th engineers, 42d (Rainbow) division, is buried in France, having died from pneumonia March 23, 1918. There are also four grandchildren living.
The funeral services will be in charge of the Elks' Lodge. The body will be taken to Logan for burial in the family lot in Arthur's Prairie cemetery.
